Novotel Melbourne City Trip

I have just come back from a 5-day stay in Melbourne's Central Business District. We stayed at a Novotel hotel on Collins St. Click here to see TripAdvisor's article on "Novotel Melbourne on Collins". The service, facilities and location of the hotel were very good. We took a lot of pictures and visited famous places like Crown Casino and Dymocks Booksellers.

I completed two things I really wanted to do. I ate Peking Duck (or Peking Roast Duck) and I took a black and white picture of myself using Portrait Studio.

Peking Duck, or Peking Roast Duck is a famous duck dish from Beijing that has been prepared since the Yuan Dynasty, now considered one of China's national foods.

Junior Leaders Course (Cadet Promotions Course)

I have just attended the Junior Leaders Course (or Cadet Promotions Course) during 07/12/07-11/12/07. The Junior Leaders Course is for first-year cadets who want to become junior leaders, attain rank and take on their second year of cadets. There was also the Senior Leaders Course and the CUO/WO Course. All the courses were held at Scotch College's "Boarding House".

The course was designed to provide cadets, skills knowledge and attitudes required to perform the role of a Junior Leader within the Australian Army Cadets. We learned about treating burns, actions on getting lost, setting up a hootchie, etc. We also had to give a "drill lesson", which was especially difficult because it was our first time.

At the end of the course, cadets are deemed either competent or incompetent. If deemed competent, cadets will receive the rank of "Corporal" next year and they also receive a certificate for completing the course. I received "competency".

Update on Dell XPS M1330 Notebook

I've had my new Dell XPS M1330 Notebook for almost a month now. It has been working excellently and Windows Vista seems to have many significant improvements. The clock is not running off time and the navigation is a bit easier now. The notebook is extremely fast and agile, being able to easily run many programs at a time. A lot of programs from Windows XP still work on Windows Vista, which was a big relief (although be forewarned, some programs cannot run on Windows Vista).

The
laptop I have is one of the thinnest and lightest notebooks in its class. Click here to read more information on the Dell XPS M1330 notebook.

Search Engine Optimization - GeniusProphecy.com changes

I'm currently going through the book Search Engine Optimization for Dummies (2nd ed. 2006) by Peter Kent. If you don't really know what SEO is, it is basically designing your website specifically for search engine indexing, searches and traffic.

I'm reading through the book and making changes as I go, so you can expect some changes at GeniusProphecy.com.
